I attended your post-conference workshop at eh ASEP meeting earlier this month. I had wanted to come and express my thanks right after the workshop but had to leave straight to the airport. I am a psychologist and professor of depth psychology (teach in Vancouver and in California) and a number of the things that you brought forward that day really resonated for me.

Now before I go into sessions I am clearing the space with the Tibetan bowl and calling on inspiration from spirit with strong intention. I can see that it really helps to get myself out of the way in the sessions!

Also the dissmemberment journey was powerful. I have done shamanic work in the past with this type of journey but had never made the connection of how practically I could apply it to the work that I do.
I have done a couple further journeys when there was a countertransference (my stuff getting in the way of the clients natural process) and it has been enormously helpful!

When my son started hearing angry voices after he'd been ill (and had received pain killer), Karyn did a Power Animal retrieval for him and Spirit also told her about a song he could sing to fend away the voices. The original voice went away after her treatment, but twice has he had similar experiences - and both times chanting the song brought lasting relief within minutes. She did the same procedure for my daughter who's very sensitive and is easily overcome by her emotions, and she is now much better able to handle her feelings. She also got a song to chant, and when she got the symbolism of the song explained to her, she embraced it wholeheartedly and seems much more stable and content. Both kids love their Power Animals and get great comfort from them. Working with Karyn has been a true blessing!

I wanted to send you both a note of gratitude and thanks for putting together the shamanic series, being there as a teacher and an example of what we all can do. You have been a wonderful influence on my life, and have helped me to see, feel, and express the love that's been hidden inside of me for so long. I give thanks to the spirits and guides that have lead me too this stage in my life and have been honored too have you be a part of that.

I've spent this past month in contemplation reflecting the tranformation that occurred for me.  I am more at peace with myself, and more balanced than I think I have ever been. I still see alot of work ahead of me, but I know now that I can do it. I see a clear path  that lies ahead of me. I have the tools, the knowledge and the experience to make that journey as I continue to grow as a person. Alot of this I owe to your teachings and guidance, for they have granted me the knowledge and the tools that have let me put the effort into this.

You had asked for commentary on the class, so I will share some of my experience. When I started the classes, I was familiar with Karyn, as I had done a soul retrieval with her before. I already felt comfortable with her as a teacher, as part of the soul retrieval is a form of teaching. Not having meet Kristi before she was a new face, but she has always been very open and very easy to work with and learn from. You both do a wonderful job of expressing confidence in the work that you share with us, and confidence in our ability to do the work. That confidence helps tremendously, for there is no doubt that we as students won't 'get it'.  Failure is not an option, for there is no failure, there is only growth and learning. You show us that in the way you present the classes as well as your selves.

The pacing, with the classes once a week, I found to be wonderful. This allowed me to intergrate use the information given between classes and not feel too rushed. The homework kept me on track between classes and gave me a good reason to use what we had learned in an independent environment.

Through out the classes you remained compassionate and understanding.  There was no 'clinical teaching' that you see so often in schools. You expressed yourselves as "real people, who really do the work", which added so much too the process.

And not least of all, you kept the process fun. Even through all the serious work and the heavy work that we were doing, it never felt like a chore. Sure some of it may have been hard or taxing, but not overly so, and that never detracted from the learning.

As a Shamanic Teacher and Practitioner Karyn has restored my faith and trust in Shamanic work.  After working with a group a few years ago who taught from a place of fear and focused constantly on protecting oneself, I felt shattered, spiritually drained and disheartened. I lost my faith and love for shamanism that was spiritually centering and calming for me. Kristi is a beautiful, grounded, powerful human being and Shamanic Practitioner. She brings her wisdom, sensitivity and direct teaching style to a type of work that is life altering. She brings out the talents in others, encourages and supports you in areas that you feel less experienced or unsure of.  She was able to bring back an essence of myself that has been lost for a long time. The change was instantaneous. I was able to completely allow myself to be open to healing because of my previous work with Karyn.  Kristi has the innate ability to read someone and meet them where they are. She creates a warm safe environment that allows you to completely relax for the work to happen. Kristi is an excellent teacher with a clear direct path and she is a very powerful and gifted Shamanic Practitioner.

We completed a period restoration of an 1896 Victorian and it sat on the market for 12 months. Even with a slower housing market I knew something was keeping this beautiful house from selling.  I felt that the 2nd owner of the home was still present in the house. Karyn performed a house clearing on the home. She confirmed that the woman (previous owner early 1900's) was still deeply attached to the house. She helped the woman detatch and also saw another spirit when she was walking down the basement stairs. (I witnessed Karyn be forced to sit down on the stairs because of leg pain.) After the clearing the previous owner confirmed someone fell down the stairs many years ago.  Karyn let us know that the woman who fell was stuck but now crossed over and the previous owner who was attached was now gone and the house would sell to a childless couple from an ocean city and that we shouldn't lower the price. Three weeks later a childless couple from Monterey, CA bought the house. They had originally seen it last year.

I highly recommend Karyn's work as she understands the needs of her clients and has an uncanny ability to sense energy and intuit information.

As a fairly new physician (5 years) and struggling w/ maintaining my practice along w/ studying for board certification, it was suggested to me that I consider meeting Karyn Armstrong to talk about "soul retrieval".  This suggestion came through an acupunturist who had gone back to school for a 2nd career (as I had) and who found that a soul retrieval reduced the "chaos" she felt in her life.  This was certainly something I felt I needed, along w/ help to deal w/ whatever was interfering w/ my own sense of confidence, etc.
