Bhola Nathan Banstola, an indigenous Nepali shaman, was born in Bholpur in eastern Nepal in 1966. He was called by the spirits at a very young age to become a shaman and was initiated by his grandfather.
Bhola hold’s a Master’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from Delhi University and is a graduate in Naturopathy from the Indian Boars of Alternative Medicines in Calcutta. After receiving his degree he practiced Naturopathy and Herbalism in the Kathmandu Valley.
As an expert in Nepali Culture and traditional healing he has conducted extensive research on shamanism with different ethnic groups and traditions in his country, as well as India, Tibet and Bhutan.
Bhola is the founder of the Shamanic Research and Holistic Healing Center in Kathmandunand works closely with his wife, Genitrini Mariarosa. They divide their time between Nepal and Italy.
“This experiential two-day workshop offers a rare opportunity to connect with an indigenous Nepalese shaman, Bhola Banstola. A much beloved international teacher, Bhola is a shaman of marvelous power and heart! The weekend will be devoted to the healing of oneself – both in its own right and as a foundation for doing healing work for others. Traditional Nepali shamanic healing systems and practices will be introduced and will be followed by a technique for inducing the shamanic trance. Participants will have opportunities to experience cleansing of unbeneficial energies, offer thanksgiving and have a beginning initiation in the Nepalese tradition. If this is your first experience being in circle with Bhola, prepared to be entranced!
Knowledge in Shamanic Journeying is a prerequisite.”. Karyn is teaching a 6 week on-line course March 21st and in May 2012 additionally Karyn offers personal instruction in her office in Portland, Oregon and over the telephone and Skype. This is going to be held at Still Meadows Retreat Center, however no overnights will be accommodated. A non-refundable 50% deposit is required of $125.00 to register for this event. It will fill quickly.
Private Healing sessions by Bhola will be offered at Harmonic Visions before and after the workshop which is located in SW Portland 10 minutes from downtown Portland. Please inquire with karyn@harmonicvisions.com for schedule and to reserve your session. A 1 hour personal healing session is $90.00.
